“You Can Do Better” – High vs Low

“You Can Do Better” – High vs Low

There’s something about the words “bargain shopping” or “discount shopping” that turns me off – but that’s exactly what this post is about. To all the new visitors and followers: PrivatelySampled started as a sample sale reseller, so basically discount designer shopping. We scoured racks for designer sales from sample sales and outlet stores. Then we shared and sold the items with our shoppers. This post is inspired by the idea of having a designer look but paying a lot less.

A few months ago I was interviewed on a podcast about trends and the climate of the fashion world today.  I was asked, “…if someone wanted to know if they should buy a Hugo Boss suit over a Michael Kors suit, which would I suggest?” My response was, if all things are equal (material, color, design) and the only difference was the name on the label – I’d choose whichever was cheaper.

Nothing wrong with labels but a budget friendly option works just as well.

Outfit inspiration from two of my favorite people to follow on Instagram. @Mrcartier88 and @Upcloseandstylish
